This sculpture contrasts the Western perspective on artificiality, closely tied to recent advances in information technology like artificial intelligence, with Indigenous perspectivism. The piece features a heap of MAMBE powder supporting a levitating magnetic disc. MAMBE is a sacred substance in many Indigenous Amazonian cultures, used in rituals to connect with spirits, while magnetic resistance is essential for electronic circuits and artificial intelligence hardware. The installation deploys the interaction between MAMBE powder and magnetic levitation, treating these two technologies as equivocity (multinatural perspectivism implies a form of conversation that inhabits difference as what transverses all bodies, implying that the relation between two different bodies is the different ways of not understanding each other as what is shared; to start a conversation). It questions the anthropocentric view of artificiality, shifting the focus to "the who of things" and fostering connections with mineral, plant, and non-human intelligences. The goal is to break free from the colonial mindset of objectifying otherness.
