This piece refers to the pyramid ‘El Morro’ located in the actual city of Popayán, in Colombia, builded and originally used by the Ancestral communities of the Puben Ancestral territory, taken since the beginning of the XX century by the local governments of the city to locate the statue of the Spanish colonizer ‘Sebastián de Belalcázar’. In September of 2020 the ‘Misak’ communitiy took down the statue, and since that moment, the discussion around the ritualization of the pyramid and the territorialization by the Ancestral communities has been taking place. The video contrasts the images of an ancestral ritual by the NASA community, also located in the region, and images taken in ‘El Morro’ by the current employees of the administration of the city of Popayán, cleaning and cutting the grass of the pyramid.
